Responsibilities
Serve as liaison between research units, central offices and funding agencies.
Review budgets and related justification for appropriateness and completeness of content. Ensures that all applicable and indirect costs have been applied.
Ensure compliance in all other areas related to grant and contract management, including federal regulations, sponsoring organization guidelines, award terms and conditions, institutional, departmental, and divisional policies, internal protocols, accurate protocol information within grant documents, conflicts of interest, etc.
Maintain ongoing updates and communications on the financial status of current grants and contracts, this includes regular auditing and reporting to principal investigators and departmental/divisional leadership. Coordinate the process of setting up awards after grant number is assigned, including reviewing the award, verifying award set-up, and ensuring personnel is setup appropriately.
Ensure that post-award responsibilities are completed, including budget distribution, account reconciliation, e-form setup, effort reporting, cost transfers, and paying invoices. If an award includes a subrecipient, ensure paperwork is completed timely and related invoicing is timely and accurate as applicable.
Coordinate the award closeout process, including working with Research Compliance to ensure the Financial Status Reports (FSR) are completed accurately and timely.
Provide information and direct assistance required to complete contract and grant closeouts, including working with Sponsored Projects Shared Services.
Participate in monthly Division research meetings, which includes research faculty and grant support staff.
Key contributor in the annual budgeting process by providing projections of research support for the current year end and an estimation of the following fiscal year.
Provide support to the sponsored finance team by working with new team members for onboarding.
Prepare presentations for team educational sessions and present as Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Complete special assignments/projects as assigned.

Required
Bachelor's Degree.
Four years of related experience in sponsored research and/or financial positions, preferably in an academic or medical setting.
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
