Responsibilities

Monitor network traffic, systems, and endpoints to identify suspicious activities and prevent breaches.
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to address potential security gaps. Provide direction on patching goals and identify priority vulnerabilities that should be mitigated first.
Investigate security incidents and support forensics and recovery efforts to minimize breaches' impact.
Collaborate with IT and Development teams to implement and manage security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
Ensure company policies meet security regulations and compliance standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, CCPA, SOC 2, FFIEC). Assist with audits and security compliance checks, particularly in customer-facing projects.
Develop and manage strategies to prevent unauthorized access or loss of sensitive data.
Educate employees on cybersecurity best practices to foster a proactive security culture
Oversee the implementation and management of encryption standards used to secure sensitive data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct ongoing security research, monitor industry alerts, and stay informed of trends and emerging threats to proactively protect the organization
Work towards aligning with security standards such as NIST CSF 2.0, ISO 27001, and other relevant frameworks to enhance the organization's security posture.

Required

1-3 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, preferably in a tech or financial services environment.
Strong skills in threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, and familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and encryption standards.
A proactive approach to identifying security risks and implementing preventive measures.

Preferred

Security+, PenTest+, CISSP (or equivalent) preferred.
Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST CSF or ISO 27001.
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud security tools and practices.
Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Experience working in both software development and banking industries.
Understanding of role-based access control (RBAC) and authentication technologies like SAML, OAuth, or MFA.
