Responsibilities

Attend Kick-Off meetings if new backbone, lateral, and/or riser fiber is required.

Review sales engineering designs and determine fiber route.

Obtain necessary circuit identifiers from groups or create them as required.

Create a Fiber DLR in Netcracker for A-Z fiber locations.

Design fiber routes and create splicing prints and work orders for vendors performing splicing work.

Coordinate fiber assignments with the Construction Team.

Obtain quotes and bids from contractors for backbone splicing and end/end testing.

Create requisitions for Purchase Order approval and payment to vendors.

Manage vendors/contractors during splicing and testing of circuits.

Submit necessary Change management notifications and adhere to field activity policies and guidelines.

Provide Operations/Provisioning with final DLRs and test shots for project closeout.

Approve vendor invoices for the project in ReqLogic.

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.

One (1)+ year of fiber engineering and construction management experience or equivalent.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint).

Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, problem-solving environment.

Preferred

minimum 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.

BS/BA (preference to Civil, Construction, or Electrical Engineering Degrees) or equivalent work experience preferred.

Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground) preferred.

Working knowledge of GO95, NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards preferred.

Experience with small cell wireless node engineering a plus.

PMP certification a plus.
