Responsibilities
Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work directly with vendors, customers, and internal teams (engineering, procurement, quality, operations) to resolve casting-related issues and ensure successful project delivery.
Process Improvement: Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing casting processes both internally and with external vendors to drive customer satisfaction and throughput.
Pattern and Process Review: Lead reviews of casting patterns, molding strategies, and pouring plans, identifying opportunities for improvement and working with foundry vendors to optimize processes.
Project Communication: Keep customers informed on project progress and status, ensuring transparent communication throughout the process.
Pattern Management and Vendor Coordination: Oversee pattern management and assist in production strategy decisions, including vendor selection and sole-source determinations.
Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with in-house manufacturing personnel and external vendors on technical developments, manufacturability, scheduling, and problem resolution.
Vendor Qualification & Relationship Management: Support the qualification of new and existing foundry vendors and maintain strong working relationships to ensure alignment with company objectives.

Required
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field preferred.
5-10+ years of experience in casting design and/or process management.
Strong ability to communicate effectively in writing, over the phone, and face-to-face.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Communication skills: 3 years (Required)

Preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with peers, management, customers, and vendors.
Solid understanding of casting methods (sand, investment, centrifugal) and materials such as Copper Nickel, Monel, Stainless Steel, Nickel-Aluminum, and various Bronzes.
Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) and other inspection/manufacturing processes is a plus.
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and the drive to independently seek solutions without requiring step-by-step guidance.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across various functions and departments.
Familiarity with mechanical/fabrication environments is a plus.
Occasional travel (<25%) to vendor locations and other company facilities.
