Loss Draft Claims Specialist I

Responsibilities
Notates activities and conversations accurately regarding the loss draft claim file in Loss Draft Tracking system, clearly providing a status.
Works on assigned files via tasks in production queue.
Resolves processing situations which occur on the assigned files, understanding the guidelines and providing recommended solutions to management.
Identifies the actions to be taken to progress the claim, then set-up processing tasks (such as property inspections, disbursement requests, and other activities).
Answers inbound calls from the borrowers and other third parties, and/or listen and respond to voicemails.
Adapts and applies updated guideline/procedural changes timely.
Communicates with the financial institution regarding the loss draft file per documented procedures.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required
High School Diploma or equivalency required.
Minimum three (3) years of insurance claims processing and/or mortgage servicing background experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Suites such as Excel, and Word and data entry systems such as AS400.
Strong math and critical thinking skills.
Strong time management skills.
Strong listening skills.
Strong verbal and written communication and customer relationship skills.
Excellent phone etiquette and professionalism.
Able to research and effectively analyze and interpret information from multiple sources, and draw valid conclusions.
Able to quickly understand information and situations and provide appropriate response.
Able to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information.
Able to operate most general office machines.
Able to attend an initial on-the-job training session.
Able to follow instruction with attention to detail.
Able to perform in a fast-paced environment, working items received via inbound phone call, production queue and email.
Able to work flexible schedules Monday – Friday and overtime, including Saturdays as required.
Able to follow directions and apply established procedures.
Able to type 35 WPM.
Able to travel locally or nationally by car or plane.
Able to sit for long periods of time while answering incoming calls, entering data, or performing other sedentary duties.
Able to stand, stoop, and kneel to file for long periods of time.
Able to lift, carry, push, or pull 10 – 20 lbs. of files, reports, or other documents/manuals.
