Responsibilities

Establish new and strengthen existing relationships within the affiliate and federal affiliate member community. Take responsibility for defining and implementing strategies to best serve member needs and support within the Internet2 community.
Be proactive in listening and responding to the needs and requirements of affiliate members, and work with Internet2 staff and leadership to align Internet2 programs with those needs as appropriate.
Maintain ongoing regular communication with executive leadership and other contacts at affiliate member organizations, including assessing needs and communicating membership benefits to ensure that they realize the greatest value for their membership.
Communicate regularly with internal Internet2 teams (such as Network Services) that also work with affiliate members to ensure alignment of efforts and coordinated management of relationships.
Manage the business aspects of new and prospective affiliate, federal affiliate and reciprocal memberships. Including maintaining member information and primary contacts, documenting engagement, assisting with invoicing and tracking of membership dues, any required procurement paperwork, and payment cycles.
Lead and participate in cross-divisional engagement initiatives beyond affiliate and federal affiliate membership to support relevant internal Internet2 initiatives and heighten engagement with the broader Internet2 community.
Lead, facilitate, or participate in special programs, collaborations, projects and events as needed to support the Internet2 mission and programs and to ensure member interests are fully represented.

Required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in community-facing engagement and relationship management within a member or service-based organization.
Experience with Affiliate or Federal Affiliate organizations, including research and education focused organizations, federal agencies or laboratories, etc.
Strong organizational and project delivery skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively and build relationships with diverse stakeholders and individuals at all levels of an organization.
Proficiency in technology applications such as Microsoft Office and G-Suite.
Ability and willingness to travel domestically.

Preferred

Practical knowledge of or experience within the Internet2 stakeholder community (higher education, affiliate, industry, or research and education networks) or with Internet2 services or solutions.
Passion for the organization’s mission and a commitment to delivering exceptional member value.
Experience with Salesforce CRM systems.
