Responsibilities

Processes loan applications, ensuring all required documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with loan policy.
Prepares loan closing packages, including drafting loan agreements, and other required closing documents.
Coordinates loan closings with field-based staff and ensure borrowers understand terms, conditions, and repayment responsibilities.
Maintains and updates loan files and tickler system in the loan management system, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
Monitors loan disbursements, repayments, and outstanding balances, and generate reports on portfolio performance.
Manages automated routines for billing, payment processing, credit reporting and account reconciliation, addressing discrepancies or issues as they arise.
Tracks and manages delinquent accounts, assisting with collection efforts and developing remediation strategies in collaboration with field-based staff and Lending Manager.
Serves as a primary point of contact for borrowers, responding to inquiries about loan terms, payment schedules, and account status.
Provides support to borrowers experiencing challenges, providing technical assistance or directing them to additional resources as needed.
Supports the lending team by streamlining workflows, improving processes, and improving the borrower experience.
Provides training and technical assistance to field-based staff on lending policies and procedures.
Assists with the preparation of reports for internal stakeholders, funders, and regulatory agencies.
Participates in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities to stay current with lending practices and CDFI operations.
Conducts research in support of broader strategic initiatives, new products, and services.
Assists in enhancing portfolio analytics dashboards used to track performance against established, technical assistance, deployment, capitalization, impact, and financial health metrics.
Supports additional initiatives, projects, and responsibilities as directed by the Lending Manager or organizational leadership.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required

Undergraduate degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years of experience in small business lending, community development, or financial services, ideally with a CDFI or nonprofit organization.
English fluency required; fluency in one or more languages spoken by refugee communities (e.g., Spanish, Ukrainian, Dari, Pashto, Arabic, or others) is desirable.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently in a virtual environment while maintaining close communication with the team; this includes an ability to think proactively about improving processes to drive greater efficiency and improved outcomes for EAF programs.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document preparation.
Flexibility and adaptability to work across different time zones and respond to the evolving needs of refugee business owners.
Proficiency in virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and outcomes tracking software.
A commitment to EAF’s mission and its impact on its community.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, technical, analytical and organizational skills.
Travel, to include travel to insecure operating environments, may be required.

Preferred

Experience working with underserved populations, particularly refugees or immigrant communities, is highly preferred.
