Environmental Permitting Project Manager

Responsibilities
Work directly with Clients, Agency personnel, other ESI Project Managers and technical staff to address Client needs for environmental permitting and compliance projects of various sizes.
Prepare proposals and cost estimates, execute contracts and/or master service agreements (MSAs) with Clients, track project/task completion, and manage budgets through project completion.
Lead project teams and/or individuals to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget. Must be comfortable interfacing with internal and external teams while contributing across a variety of project-specific roles, ranging from technical lead to reviewer to Project Manager, based on project size and complexity, geographic location, and individual experience.
Respectfully and consistently collaborate and communicate with other ESI project staff of all levels for successful project execution.
Participate in work-flow and staff resourcing with ESI’s Group and Project managers.
Participate in developing technical and marketing industry and Client presentations, meetings, and attend events.
Mentor junior staff and work collaboratively with senior staff to identify areas for improvement.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, biology, or other relevant/related discipline.
Demonstrable record of providing quality environmental permitting and compliance services within the energy sector (8+ years).
Working knowledge of federal, state, and/or local environmental regulations including but not limited to the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Environmental Protection Act. Must have a solid understanding of permitting and compliance requirements with the ability to interpret changing regulations across all levels of government.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Willingness to travel up to 10% for marketing, project meetings, recruiting, and/or professional development.
Experience with cost estimating and scope generation for proposals.
Positive attitude, with a team-first leadership mentality.
Responsive and reliable; self-motivated to follow through on commitments to colleagues and Clients.
Preferred
Advanced Degree in environmental science, engineering, anthropology, or other relevant/related discipline.
2+ years of Project Management experience in environmental consulting.
Experience in electric generation, transmission, or distribution sectors.
Demonstrable experience with complex regulatory permitting, compliance, and document preparation.
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams across a large geographic area.
Significant prior career stage field experience.
