Responsibilities
Complete the following functions in accordance with Managed Resources policies: Abstract all ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, possible CPT, DRG and query reviews based on medical record documentation.
Accurately enter data into client software and/or Excel reports.
Experience in coding and auditing Inpatient accounts in various specialties, including Trauma I, OB/Gyn, Transplants, NICU, Pediatrics and many others.
Evaluate the overall quality of facility documentation for quality improvement measures. Communicate findings with CodingAID internal management team for distribution to client.
Perform accurate coding using applicable guidelines and client protocols.
Perform quality assurance reviews on team members to ensure accurate coding.
Communicate with client and/or providers as needed (i.e. coding clarification, missing documentation, client calls etc.)
Communicate with team assigned to project and Project Manager as needed (i.e. onboarding, ongoing training opportunities, schedule changes, vacations, daily assignments/work volume, coding questions, protocol updates, etc.).
Assist with project staffing based on client(s) volume.
Track and enter time accurately and timely into our timekeeping system.
Comply with policies regarding the use and disclosure of protected health information which includes accessing and using protected health information only to the extent necessary to fulfill the above-mentioned responsibilities
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and standards related to health information and coding principles.
Other duties as assigned.

Required
Experience coding and auditing Inpatient accounts in various specialties, including Trauma I, OB/Gyn, Transplants, NICU, Pediatrics and many others.
Must have one of the following current credentials from AAPC or AHIMA, CPC, COC, CCS.
A minimum of three - five years’ experience required abstracting ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, possible CPT, DRG and query reviews.
Requires advanced technical knowledge in Coding Specialties areas as assigned.
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience in researching and applying coding rules and regulations.
Must have experience with data entry of codes into a database and/or software tool.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems.
