Responsibilities
Under general guidance conducts basic investigations of in-state and out-of-state employers for workers' compensation insurance coverage. Explains workers' compensation insurance coverage and compliance requirements.
Collects, compiles, and transmits data reports (investigative and administrative) electronically, within predefined guidelines and time limitations.
Contacts insurance carriers, insurance agents and other resources to obtain information for supplementing investigative reports.
Explains employer responsibilities and provides answers to the public concerning the Workers’ Compensation Act. Provides public presentations, as requested.
Testifies at citation hearings and other legal proceedings, as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
One year of experience in investigations, insurance claims adjusting, insurance underwriting, or in the fields of risk management employment or property and casualty insurance.
Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment in this classification.
Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification.
Preferred
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and work cooperatively with a team.
Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and a history of working with databases and reports.
