Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and efficient applications using Java, Python, and other technologies in support of investment decisions made by portfolio managers, trading operations, and client services;
Lead development projects and report status to VP of Technology;
Create responsive and user-friendly web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks/libraries such as Angular and Flask;
Develop robust back-end services and APIs using Java (SpringBoot, Hibernate, etc.) and Python(Django, Flask, etc.), ensuring seamless integration with front-end components;
Design and manage database schemas, write efficient SQL queries, and handle database operations using MySQL, Redshift;
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards;
Work closely with cross-functional team, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software solutions;
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and technical issues;
Optimize application performance for maximum speed and scalability;
Utilize version control systems including Git for efficient code management and collaboration;
Write and execute unit tests, integration tests, and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and reliability;
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in full stack development.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field and at least five (5) years of progressively more responsible work experience as a full stack developer engaged in all phases of the product development lifecycle.
Alternatively, the employer will also accept a master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field plus two (2) years of experience as a full stack developer engaged in all phases of the product development lifecycle.
Expertise in Java gained through two (2) years of work experience.
Expertise in Python gained through two (2) years of work experience.
Proficiency with: Java Frameworks - Spring, Hibernate, Webservices, JSON, Angular, and JavaScript gained through two (2) years of work experience.
Proficiency in Python libraries (Flask and Pandas) gained through two (2) years of work experience.
Proficiency with all aspects of the AWS platform gained through two (2) years of work experience.
Proficiency with microservices architecture gained through two (2) years of work experience.
Strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks/libraries (Angular or similar) gained through two (2) years of work experience.
Proficiency with build tools (Maven, Gradle) and CI/CD pipelines gained through one (1) year of work experience.
Proficiency with database systems (MySQL, Redshift) and ORM tools gained through two (2) years of work experience.
Proficiency using a risk model and optimizer such as Axioma or similar tools gained through two (2) years of work experience.
Ability to lead teams of developers gained through (2) years of work experience.
Demonstrated ability guiding and mentoring developers to solve technical issues.
Ability to solve complex system or performance problems.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with non-technical users and development teams to effectively support account management and trading systems.
