Responsibilities
Join America’s longest-running investigative documentary series, known for deep, impactful storytelling that addresses the critical social and political issues of our time. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating compelling short-form verticals and films with a focus on YouTube Shorts and other short-form storytelling platforms, to expand the series digital presence and connect with new audiences alongside a team that remains dedicated to thoughtful and incisive accountability journalism.
Identify, research, and develop story ideas suited to concise digital formats while maintaining the series standards of investigative rigor and powerful storytelling.
Collaborate with the series production team to develop, create, and edit engaging short-form films and verticals for YouTube and social media channels while ensuring the high-quality, cohesive production that aligns with the series investigative and storytelling standards.
Write, edit, and oversee the creation of scripts and visual storyboards for short-form films and verticals.
Join some of the series long-form filmmakers on-site in production to ideate, shoot, and edit original short-form footage and films.
Assess viewership analytics and audience feedback to refine storytelling approaches for greater impact.
Work with an existing producer and team for the full trajectory of these projects, from the earliest stages of research and development to production to distribution and promotion.
The Digital Producer will have strong editorial vision, excellent writing and production skills, and an understanding of digital-first platforms and storytelling.

Required
The fellowship program is for mid-career professionals with a range of five (5) years to eight (8) years of mid-career production experience (i.e., 5 – 8 years of experience as a producer, journalist, editor) OR minimum of two (2) production credits with the same or similar job title as the fellowship position you are seeking
A Fellow should be able to demonstrate that they have experienced barriers to entering the media industry including those who can bring lesser-known stories or insightful perspectives to the media industry
Participants must commit to and be available for the duration of the fellowship
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, media, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
Must demonstrate strong visual storytelling skills; experience with journalism and/or experience in short-form content creation preferred
Proven track record of managing projects from concept to completion
Ability to produce content under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
Must demonstrate strong initiative, commitment, communication, and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with short-form digital platforms and digital distribution strategies, particularly on YouTube
A creative filmmaker/journalist with experience in documentary and/or journalistic short-form storytelling who is excited about pushing the boundaries of investigative journalism on digital platforms
Experience editing and producing digital video
