Payroll and Benefits Specialist

Responsibilities
Manage payroll processing to ensure employees are paid timely and accurately.
Ensure compliance with all state and local payroll tax requirements, reporting and state registrations.
Oversee process for garnishments and liens to ensure they are processed timely and accurate.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee data, payroll, and benefit records.
Administer and manage benefits programs including group health, dental, life, disability, retirement, health & welfare (H&W) and other programs offered by The Rehancement Group.
Assists with the annual open enrollment process collaborating with employees to answer questions and process enrollment files.
Assist with audits; W-4s, W-2s, ACA, 401k, etc.
Mid and end of year payroll and compliance reports and reconciliations as assigned (EEO-1, 5500, ACA, etc.).
Assists in creating ad hoc reporting, research and special projects as needed or requested to support the organization's strategic direction.
Serve as the backup Unanet administrator.
Creating and maintaining payroll and benefits standard operating procedures.
Provide excellent customer service to staff in a friendly and courteous manner.
Exercises integrity and confidentiality in handling of confidential employee and company information.

Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes.
Aptitude for learning new software and systems.
Significant experience in MS Excel, including advanced features (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
Superb organizational skills with a high attention to detail, efficiency, and accuracy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and highly collaborative.
Work effectively independently and as a member of a team.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree (BS, BA) or equivalent work experience preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience managing and coordinating the administration, execution, and analysis of a broad range of compensation and employee benefit programs preferred.
Experience with electronic payroll and benefits providers; iSolved a strong plus.
Payroll and/or benefit certifications a plus.
