Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy that ensures high-quality software applications across all projects, focusing on both functional and non functional requirements.
Monitor and analyze software defects, using Jira or other tracking tools, to provide insights into recurring issues, trends, and root causes. Provide regular reports to senior leadership on defect trends and resolutions.
Evaluate the performance of engineers, particularly in relation to their adherence to quality standards. Provide constructive feedback and work with Engineering Managers to ensure improvements in coding practices, testing, and overall quality.
Review and guide team on detailed testing plans, ensuring thorough coverage of all functional areas, edge cases, and potential performance bottlenecks. This includes both manual and automated testing strategies.
Lead the implementation of automated testing processes to reduce manual intervention and improve testing efficiency. Oversee the integration of testing automation into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality monitoring.
Work closely with development teams to understand project requirements, risks, and priorities. Ensure testing coverage aligns with product goals and that engineers are equipped with the necessary tools and processes to maintain high standards.
Manages Quality Assurance schedules as well as resource allocation and budgets. This includes managing joint testing with 3rd party vendors.
Manage the allocation of QA resources across multiple projects, balancing short-term needs with long-term priorities. Ensure timely completion of testing tasks and proactively address potential bottlenecks.
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for software quality, such as defect density, test coverage, release success rate, and cycle time. Regularly assess team performance against these metrics and recommend improvements.
Mentor and support QA team members in their professional growth. Promote standards & best practices in testing, provide training opportunities, and encourage continuous learning within the team.
Identify and address potential risks related to software quality, such as missed testing deadlines, scope changes, or resource constraints. Develop and implement mitigation strategies in collaboration with stakeholders.
Continuously assess and improve QA processes, ensuring that they are aligned with the organization’s evolving technology stack and product development methodologies. Drive initiatives to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
Facilitate communication between QA, development, and product teams to ensure alignment on quality goals. Ensure QA is integrated into the full product lifecycle, from planning to release, for optimal impact on product quality.

Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
Experience with Agile methodologies and integrating QA processes in Agile teams.
Proficiency in defect tracking tools like Jira for managing bugs and creating quality dashboards.
Experience with Azure DevOps for managing pipelines, automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium with .NET C#), and CI/CD processes.
Knowledge of API testing tools such as POSTMAN for validating functionality and performance of APIs.
Familiarity with AWS environments and infrastructure as it relates to QA processes.
Experience with test case management tools such as Qase (or similar) for managing manual test cases.
Strong leadership and team management skills with experience mentoring QA teams.
Ability to define and monitor KPIs for software quality, such as defect density, test coverage, release success rate, and others.
Experience with automated testing frameworks like Selenium, including writing and maintaining test scripts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for root cause analysis and process improvements.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting to leadership and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Willingness to perform other duties and special projects as needed/requested.

Preferred
Hands-on experience developing automated tests across all testing layers (unit, integration, API, UI, End to End), with a focus on frameworks such as Selenium or equivalent tools in a .NET C# environment.
Experience with Accessibility testing tools like Axe Dev tool for ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA.
Proficiency in SEO testing and optimization techniques, with the ability to develop and run automated tests to validate SEO factors like page load speed, meta tags, structured data, and overall search visibility.
Experience with performance testing and tools for monitoring software performance (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
Familiarity with performance monitoring in AWS and the use of AWS services for testing and deployment.
Experience with DevOps practices and tools, with a focus on integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Experience working with third-party vendor testing (managing joint testing efforts).
Knowledge of No-SQL or other database management systems for querying data and validating test cases.
Experience with shift-left testing methodologies, where QA is introduced early in the development process to catch issues sooner.
Familiarity with security testing practices, ensuring code meets security standards and passes penetration tests.
AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner) to better understand cloud testing environments.
ISTQB Certification or other recognized software testing certification.
