Responsibilities

Review, draft, and negotiate terms in agreements with our customers including but not limited to SaaS Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, partnership Agreements, Reseller Agreements
Interpret complex regulatory frameworks and advise the Treefera team on how to implement these into products or ensure products stay compliant where applicable
Update and maintain internal terms, non-disclosure agreements, licensing agreements, security and data protection documentation, and other standard form agreements
Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Platform team and other teams in connection with driving sales negotiations
Engage with Treefera teams across the world to ensure consistent approach in negotiating agreements, data privacy requirements and general contractual compliance
Provide day-to-day counsel, guidance and support to management, HR and business leaders on US employment matters, from recruitment, background screening and hiring, to pay, promotion, performance evaluation, discipline, termination, and benefits, as well as successful resolution of disputes
Review and advise on US specific policies and procedures that raise employment issues
Assist with other legal matters in accordance with the mandate received from the Head of Legal
Competition and antitrust experience are a plus

Required

Between 3-5 years experience as an In-house/Corporate Counsel
Strong understanding of IP ownership and data protection/privacy issues in the context of technology/commercial transactions
Prior experience negotiating SaaS/Software contracts is a must
Prior experience counseling all aspects of HR, employment issues, and global compliance
Excellent research skill, to assist Treefera’s fast growth within an increasingly regulated space, including AI, climate, technology and other matters
Team player with exceptional communication skills who has the demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships at all levels of an organization
Pragmatic, business focus with an understanding of business goals, and the ability to assess and creatively manage risk across our business
Ability to balance workload, meeting deadlines and delivering results within a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
Maintain a positive 'can-do' attitude and strong sense of ownership over duties and responsibilities, and consistently deliver quality work on time
JD from a top-tier law school and be a member in good standing with a state bar
