Responsibilities

Audit and correct (when necessary) a percentage of abstracted/verified data to ensure all documentation/data is free of defects.
Correct errors that are reported via Nemours’ associates and/or the interface error work queues (IEWs).
Completes research, provides education, feedback and ongoing training using the QC worksheet tool.
Approach problems with strong independent judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills that require logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
Proficient in the following: EMR, Document Imaging Software; Optical Character Recognition Software, clinical documentation for which they audit; and Microsoft Office/Outlook.
Maintains standard of accuracy and productivity concerning the QC process.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of the HIM policies and reliable methods governing abstracting and all verification processes.
Manages email pool and provides training and/or corrections based on the questions received.
Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination from other departments.
Capable of working with dashboards, statistical, and analytical reports.

Required

Associates degree required
Minimum of one year experience required
