Responsibilities
Prepare and review the U.S. federal and state tax returns and other statutory reports, ensuring timely and accurate filing
Assist in the preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions
Monitor and ensure compliance with U.S. tax laws, including FATCA, BEPS, and transfer pricing regulations
Assist in the preparation and review of transfer pricing documentation to ensure compliance with local regulations in jurisdictions where Chemonics operates
Collaborate with internal teams to gather the necessary data for transfer pricing benchmarking studies and ensure proper documentation of intercompany transactions
Coordinate with external advisors to ensure transfer pricing compliance and assist in responding to transfer pricing audits or inquiries from tax authorities and maintain records of all transfer pricing agreements
Work with internal divisions and business lines to ensure proper implementation of transfer pricing policies within the company's intercompany transactions and finance systems
Provide high level analysis and recommendation on risks and implication of foreign permanent establishments, transfer pricing, income taxation, etc., on the company
Provide interpretive analyses of complex regulatory guidance documents, regulations, or directives that impact the company’s operations, identify and summarize implications for affected functions with the support of outside service providers, as needed
Coordinate with external tax advisors on complex tax matters and audits
Stay up to date with changing tax laws and regulations in the U.S. and globally, particularly in countries where Chemonics operates
Conduct research and provide technical support on domestic and international tax issues, including income tax, indirect taxes, and withholding taxes
Provide tax advice to internal stakeholders on the implications of new projects and business initiatives
Manage the collection, review, and submission of U.S. government census data as required for U.S. business entities (e.g., Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) surveys, Economic Census)
Oversee the registration, formation, and ongoing compliance of Chemonics entities and branches in the U.S. and foreign jurisdictions
Provide project registration request reviews and recommend registration methods
Provide oversight of the maintenance of tax, registrations and related compliance files by the respective business units owners
Provide training and guidance on the registration process to relevant internal stakeholders through the registration process and continuing compliance
Monitor project registration platform and registration resource portal, collaborate with Business Units and Project Management Units in ensuring the entity registration management platforms are up-to-date and complete
Assist in the development and implementation of tax compliance and transfer pricing processes and internal controls to streamline workflows and improve accuracy
Implement technology solutions to improve tax reporting, registration tracking, transfer pricing documentation, and census submission processes
Work closely with finance, legal, project teams and other internal stakeholders to ensure tax, registration, transfer pricing, and census compliance is integrated into business activities and project management
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Taxation, Business, Accounting, Finance or similar business oriented field required
Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in tax compliance, preferably with a focus on multinational companies
Experience with transfer pricing regulations and the preparation of transfer pricing documentation, benchmarking studies, and economic analysis
Specialty with tax, project and entity registration and maintenance processes in multiple jurisdictions (domestic and international)
Strong knowledge of U.S. tax laws, including federal and state income taxes, indirect taxes, withholding taxes, and government census filings
Proven skills and demonstrated experience in influencing internal stakeholders as well as forging strong relationships with colleagues
Ability to manage external relationships, including tax authorities, service providers, and other organizations
Proven skills to work in an international context with different cultures
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills must be able to summarize and articulate technical information to diverse audiences both verbally and in writing
Proven skills with reports compilation and maintaining filing systems, with attention to detail
Problem solving skills with the ability to bring project to conclusion
A “can do” attitude and willingness to drive change that may not be inspired by them and is being asked of them
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong knowledge of MS Office applications
Fluent spoken and written English required
Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity
Preferred
Master’s degree
Familiarity with UK tax and compliance requirements
Specialty with compliance requirements in state/local US jurisdictions; government contracting knowledge and experience preferred
Experience in a multinational company or consulting environment
Proficiency in a second language
