Responsibilities

Conduct end-to-end workplace investigations into allegations such as harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, fraud, security, and policy violations, ensuring a thorough, objective, and legally compliant process.
Draft clear investigation reports which summarize findings, analyses, and recommended actions.
Own investigation protocols and frameworks, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
Provide training and guidance to HR on investigation processes and best practices.
Investigate and draft initial responses to employment-related demand letters, agency filings (e.g., EEOC, DFEH), and other disputes in collaboration with internal and external counsel.
Utilize tools like Jira and leverage data insights to track investigation metrics, identify trends, and drive process improvements.
Stay current on employment laws and workplace investigation trends to ensure compliance and integrate new developments into company practices.
Contribute to broader compliance initiatives, including audits, policy development, and risk mitigation strategies.

Required

5+ years of experience conducting workplace investigations, ideally in-house, at a law firm, or through third-party investigations.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and global employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, and FMLA; bonus points for global compliance experience.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, particularly in preparing investigation reports and legal responses.
Ability to use data to inform decision-making and process enhancements; bonus points for proficiency with tools like Jira or similar platforms.
Proven ability to manage highly sensitive matters with discretion, professionalism, and objectivity.
Entrepreneurial mindset (flexible, self-starting and hard-working) in generating new and innovative solutions to build out the Legal & Compliance program.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Sense of humor.
Law degree (e.g. JD or equivalent).
