Responsibilities
Provides support to the UT Health San Antonio Chief Health Information and Value Officer / Chair of the AI Collaborative in the management of the UT Health San Antonio and UT-HIP AI in Healthcare project portfolios and the deployment of added services, solutions, and technologies to ensure objectives are met. The portfolio will include both UT Health San Antonio Clinical Health IT and UT-HIP AI in Healthcare Collaborative projects; at least 50% of the portfolio will be devoted to the AI in Healthcare Collaborative.
Manages both UT Health San Antonio and UT-HIP AI in Healthcare projects while effectively organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating work assignments. Manage technology and business process improvement projects and contracts. Develops effective plans and meet deadlines. Obtains and maintains clear understanding of all appropriate legal and contractual matters related to projects.
For UT Health San Antonio project, works with the Clinical Application Directors, other Project Managers and the Project Management Office. For UT-HIP AI in Healthcare Collaborative projects, works with UT-HIP and local HRI teams. Ensures project management standards and processes are followed.
Creates a comprehensive risk management plan and manages risks with the Chief Health Information and Value Officer / Chair of the AI Collaborative and program governance committees.
Ensures project initiation is well defined, including a detailed review of customer expectations, business drivers, requirements, design and success metrics. Keeps projects on track while managing risks and controlling quality.
Provide effective leadership, guidance, and critical communications to project team(s) as appropriate while promoting and contributing to a cohesive team environment. Monitors performance of project team resources. Makes recommendations for and/or facilitates problem resolution where appropriate.
Works with management, vendors, customers and IT staff to coordinate, plan, assign, and review project plans and deliverables, with responsibility for the successful implementation and completion of assigned projects.
Initiates UT Health San Antonio and UT system enterprise-level projects as requested, obtains authorization and commitment and ensures that projects demonstrate business need and feasibility. Stays abreast of current emerging project management technologies as necessary.
Provides project management advising as needed or requested for internal and external project resources. Analyzes established project management procedures for continual improvement. Facilitates and/or makes recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
Prepare comprehensive and accurate schedules and reports. Perform evaluation, interpretation, and effective presentations of pertinent data. Communicates project status routinely to stakeholders; ensures delivery timelines are met and projects are implemented within budget.

Required
5+ years’ experience in implementing information systems, clinical initiatives, and other programs.
Experience with healthcare Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), large-language models (LLM).
Impeccable project management skills with demonstrated ability to keep projects on time and on budget.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with advanced level of MS Office software.
Highly proactive in identifying and understanding all risks and issues that arise during the implementation.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Preferred
Master's Degree in related field strongly preferred.
