Responsibilities

Participates in the execution of technical projects following the plan outlined by Technical Operations Lead or Scientist. Coordinates project activities with site functional groups and other affiliates as required. May lead projects of low complexity.
Coordinate project activities and resources for the execution's per project plan.
Analyzes physical and analytical testing results from the study to summarize results and conclusions in technical reports.
Evaluates problems/deviations resulting from validation exercises and recommends resolution.
Works with other teams to address technical issues and resolve them using sound scientific reasoning and technical expertise (consults other technical experts as needed).
Determines along with team, corrective and preventive actions using the appropriate root cause analysis tools.
Evaluates the effectiveness of the corrective actions.
Identifying and reporting results that deviate from normal or expected results for routine and non-routine procedures and supports the resolution of the issue.
Identifies areas of process improvement and works with technical groups in the implementation. May lead process improvements initiatives depending on complexity.
Provides input for Standard Operating Procedure and batch records revisions.
Authors, revises SOP's, and departmental forms and routes for approvals.
Documents and revises work performed according to company procedures and applicable regulations.
Maintains his/her training curriculum up to date and in compliance with procedures.
Provides training to personnel involved in the execution technical projects.
Observes all company policies, procedures, programs, systems, rules, and regulations at all times of all compliance areas including but not limited to Safety, Environmental, Quality, Records Management, Human Resources, Security, and others; and encourage co-workers to do so.
Notifies any violation or deviation to his/her immediate supervisor or compliance area officer.
Provides support to the ISO 14001 Team member of his department and to the Environmental Management System Coordinator for training and continuous improvement of the organization's ISO 14001 system.
Follows all guidelines established in the organization for the continuous improvement of the ISO 14001 system.
Follows the proper indications as established in the SOP's for chemical substances and hazardous waste handling or disposal, if applies.
Attends applicable education and training programs and immediately informs supervisor if there are tasks or duties for which he/she is not properly trained.

Required

Legally authorized to work in the US and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (ex. H1-B, F-1).
Currently pursuing a University degree, completing minimum undergraduate sophomore year prior to internship or co-op start date.
Availability to work on site if the position requires it.
Availability to work full time (40 h/w) for the entire co-op or internship.
Having a graduation date after the contract end date.
Fluent (English and Spanish) written and orally.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Good technical writing skills.
Technical/scientific skills/knowledge acquired through college degree, trainings, certifications, and experience.
Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's), regulations and validation/technical support methods and procedures.

Preferred

Previous Internship/COOP and/or Academic Research experience preferred.
Previous work experience in pharmaceutical industry or related fields of research is a plus.
Project Management software, preferred.
Good knowledge of statistics program, Minitab desirable.
Works a regular shift, but occasionally may be required to work extended hours, holidays and weekends.
Flexibility to be cross-trained in various functional areas.
