Responsibilities
Facilitate a great employee experience at all touchpoints of the employee lifecycle.
Assist in Payroll administration bi-weekly (updating system/ payroll team with wage increases, retirement contribution changes, overtime forms, leave payout requests, etc.)
Assist employees with their benefit and policy questions and concerns.
Support 401k compliance testing, annual audits, and the completion of the 5500 filing.
Ensure data integrity and security of timekeeping system. Support and coordinate with employees the completion of timesheet corrections, reset passwords, and resolve login issues.
Recommend enhancements to current systems and processes to optimize workflow and functionality.
Communicate and explain policies and procedures.
Manage and administer employee Leave of Absence (LOA) programs, including but not limited to FMLA, medical leaves, and personal leave requests. Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements, effectively communicate with employees regarding their leave status, and maintain accurate records. Provide guidance to managers and employees on LOA processes, track return-to-work dates, and support a smooth transition back to work.
Prepare simple and complex reports and correspondence for the People Operations Manager.
Monitor compliance, to include but not limited to, Department of Labor’s FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, ACA, FLSA, OFCCP) and applicable federal and state regulations.
Assist in the recruitment and selection process in accordance with policy and OFCCP regulations.
Assist in the onboarding process by interfacing with new hires when needed, assist in the coordinating and confirmation of completed paperwork, and ensuring proper internal new hire setup is confirmed in multiple systems.
Coordinate the completion of the termination process for exiting employees, such as confirming paperwork is received, out-process has been completed, assisting with security debriefs, and updates to system(s) have been complete and accurate.
Review employee personnel transactions and data entries into systems for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate the completion and submission of proper personnel action forms for changes in deductions, pay, job titles, bonuses, and more. Ensures all personnel actions are documented and coordinated appropriately with Payroll and PEO as needed.
Compile information and assists in the completion of annual forms, audits, or requests such as census, non-discrimination testing,1094/1095 filings, Vets 4212, EEO-1, 5500, and more.
Assist in the maintenance of personnel files.
Administrative and clerical duties such as coordinating open enrollment communication and documents, updating and coordinating employment posters, processing paperwork, providing data to Managers and other Business Unit Leaders as requested, create and maintain spreadsheets, copying/scanning, maintaining files, emailing and corresponding with many individuals via phone and virtual video meetings.
Support and assist with ad hoc projects and requests.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Human Resources Management
3-5 years of experience as a HR Generalist
Detail oriented with the ability to follow direction and communicate effectively
Handle confrontation and difficult situations with ease, objectivity, and utilize negotiation skills to resolve conflict
Ability to ask for help when needed and look for opportunities to increase responsibilities and personal development
Generate suggestions for improving work. Develops innovative approaches and ideas
Identifies problems and solutions in a timely manner
Build a positive team spirit. Puts success of team above own interests
Ability to maintain a high-level of confidentiality
Required knowledge of tools, equipment, and programs including laptop, phone, scanner/printer/fax, and Microsoft Office suite
Preferred
3-8 years overall human resources experience or equivalent
Knowledge of human resource operations, ideally in the federal government contracting industry
Experience or exposure to collective bargaining unit / unionized environment
Experience working with a PEO
Preferred experience or knowledge working in the Microsoft Office, Deltek CostPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and HRIS systems
