Senior Program Manager, Utility Programs

Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional teams to execute utility and strategic partner programs, ensuring timely delivery.
Serve as the primary point of contact for utility and strategic partner projects, managing relationships and ensuring contractual commitments are met.
Establish and track processes for customer projects to be contracted, installed and enrolled in relevant grid services programs.
Work closely with internal teams (e.g., sales, product, engineering, finance) to operationalize program design and ensure alignment across departments.
Manages grid services’ program partners and ensures compliance with third party operational and reporting requirements.
Monitor project performance, risks, and issues, driving resolutions and ensuring continuous improvement across projects.
Manage all phases of project development, from scope and budget planning through to compliance, implementation, and final delivery.
Develop and negotiate new partnerships with utilities, governmental agencies, and non-profit organizations
Provide strategic guidance on program design, regulatory compliance, and market dynamics to ensure the success of energy programs.
Influence hardware and software product design and implementation by working closely with OEMs and internal engineering teams, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Document processes, ensuring smooth transitions and consistent communication across teams and partners.

Required
7+ years of experience in energy-related project or program management, with a focus on utility, renewable energy, or distributed energy resources.
Demonstrated experience managing multi-million-dollar projects, ideally in both startup and utility environments.
Proven track record in negotiating and securing complex partnerships with utilities, non-profits, and government agencies.
Proven track record of managing partnerships that led to the deployment of solar and battery systems.
Strong understanding of energy markets, virtual power plants, distributed energy resources, and regulatory frameworks.
Ability to manage cross-functional teams and effectively navigate internal and external stakeholders to achieve program goals.
Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and negotiation skills.
Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and an understanding of Lean/Agile methodologies.
Adaptability and resilience, with a demonstrated ability to lead in fast-paced and high-stakes environments.
Passion for both renewable energy and the ability of a flexible grid to allow for more sustainable energy sources.
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, energy management, or a related field.
Preferred
Prior experience in both startup and utility settings is highly preferred.
MBA or PMP certification preferred.
