Responsibilities
Lead for clinic support, scheduling internal and external patient appointments.
Lead over team of schedulers in a high volume medical/dental/psychiatric clinic.
Develop and maintain complex databases and lists of program specific statistics and information, i.e., clinic schedules, Outside appointment referrals, NCCHC statistics. Develop tracking and filing systems.
Compose, draft, proofread and edit complex documents and reports, contracts, forms and/or correspondence, with minimal revision from supervisor and/or administrative staff.
Interpret and review established policies, procedures, regulations, internal data, and other requirements. Identify gaps, provide feedback, and recommend/implement process improvements.
Run reports; Dental Annual report, Preventive Care Report, HIV Telemedicine Report, Outside Appointment reports, etc. Research and summarize specialized or technical information from varied sources and make recommendations.
Ensure clinic appointment lists and patient labels are printed and delivered daily to the medical/dental/psychiatric clinics.
Schedule and coordinate x-ray appointments. Provide requisitions to the medical clinics on day of service.
Maintain a broad working knowledge and good professional relationship with key customers, medical/dental/psychiatric providers, release planning, SUD, and other JHS teams.
Coordinate patient transport for Outside medical appointments. Ensure transport goals are achieved. Work closely with the Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention transport team.
Participate in guidelines development, staff development, committee meetings, both in JHS and Public Health
Prepare meeting agendas. Attend and take minutes at meetings.
Facilitate daily team huddles and monthly scheduler meetings.
Serve on workgroups and committees.

Required
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency using EPIC® or other electronic health records.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.
Experience managing multiple tasks, while remaining organized and detail oriented in an often-changing environment.
Experience providing training, work direction and delegation of work assignments.
Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques.
Technical writing skills.
Customer service skills – in person and via telephone.
Organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
Problem solving and process improvement skills.
Knowledge of Health Information Management and/or patient service processes and procedures.
Experience scheduling appointments in a clinic or medical practice.
Preferred
Experience working in a correctional facility.
Familiarity with Medical Terminology.
Experience working within a healthcare organization.
Experience as a team Lead with demonstrated coaching skills.
