Responsibilities
Lead and mentor junior staff members, fostering technical growth and professional development
Oversee hydrology and hydraulic analysis for the design and construction of transportation projects
Review and approve stormwater management system and pond designs
Manage hydraulic culvert/bridge design and permitting processes
Provide strategic direction on erosion and sediment pollution control designs
Ensure quality control and compliance with NCDOT standards and FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate hydraulics with overall civil/highway design
Assist with client and stakeholder coordination, ensuring projects meet technical and regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
Minimum 8 years of experience in hydraulic design for transportation projects
B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Professional Engineer (PE) license required; ability to obtain North Carolina PE
Proficiency in MicroStation, GEOPAK Drainage, ORD, and HEC-RAS
Strong understanding of the FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide project teams and collaborate effectively
Preferred
Experience developing deliverables per NCDOT standards (BSR/CSR experience preferred)
Knowledge of erosion and sediment pollution control (NCDOT Level III Certification a plus)
