Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive market research (e.g., GSA, SAM.gov, FPDS, GovWin) to identify and qualify opportunities that align with Essnova’s core competencies, strategic objectives, and growth goals.
Evaluate RFPs/RFQs to determine strategic fit, feasibility, budget alignment, timelines, competition, and compliance requirements, making recommendations on which opportunities to pursue.
Develop and implement detailed capture strategies and plans, including win themes, competitive positioning, and value propositions tailored to target agencies and opportunities.
Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) and Sources Sought responses with speed, accuracy, and strategic clarity.
For larger proposals, actively contribute to and participate in proposal teams—supporting compliance, compelling messaging, pricing strategies, and integration of capture strategies into final deliverables.
Schedule and conduct capabilities briefings with Small Business Specialists, Procurement Officers, and large prime contractors to showcase Essnova’s value, build strategic relationships, and position the company as a preferred partner.
Identify and collaborate with teaming partners, subcontractors, joint venture, and mentor-protégé candidates. Respond to data calls, gather past performance, and facilitate relationships that enhance Essnova’s competitive posture.
Register and update Essnova’s profile with various federal agencies and large prime procurement portals, ensuring ongoing visibility and compliance.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in CRM and capture management tools (e.g., HubSpot, GovWin, NextStage, CONTRAQER), ensuring all capture activities are documented and compliant with federal contracting requirements and FAR/DFAR regulations.
Utilize technology to its fullest—expert-level proficiency with CRMs and other BD/capture tools is a must; ClickUp experience is a plus.
Ensure all capture activities align with ethical guidelines, conflict of interest rules, and internal policies.
Gather and analyze intelligence on upcoming contracts, incumbent performance, customer needs, competitor activities, and market trends.
Attend industry days, pre-proposal conferences, relevant trade shows, and networking events to strengthen market presence and gain actionable insights.
Contribute to continuous improvement of capture processes and methodologies through best practices, lessons learned, and the integration of emerging technologies (e.g., AI, advanced analytics).
Support internal knowledge sharing, maintain repositories of past performance and proposal assets, and assist with refining internal templates and tools.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in capture management in the federal government contracting space and an understanding of the federal procurement process.
Proven track record of consistently exceeding performance targets and goals.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop actionable strategies.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Excellent research and data analysis abilities, including experience with tools and databases commonly used in federal contracting (e.g., GSA, SAM.gov, FPDS, GovWin, CONTRAQER, NextStage, etc).
Mastery of CRM and capture management tools, like HubSpot, NextStage, Contraqur, GovWin, with a focus on maintaining accurate and compliant records.
Experience working within the guidelines of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR/DFAR) and other relevant federal regulations.
Familiarity with proposal development processes and compliance requirements in federal contracting.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
