Responsibilities

Passes instruments to physician during surgery

Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery

Demonstrates flexibility and competency to provide patient care throughout the South Broward Hospital District to a variety of patient populations

Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients

Assists nurse with patient care

Assists in decontamination, preparation and sterilization of instruments in sterile processing

Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies

Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments

Required

Accredited Program: Surgical Technologist (Required)

BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)

Two (2) years' of experience as a Surgical Technologist

Requires critical thinking skills

Effective communications skills

Decisive judgment

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
