Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Leadership: Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CDK, ensuring robust CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and scalability for high-volume, mission-critical systems

Strategic Ownership: Take ownership of specific product lines, milestones, or feature sets and drive them forward with minimal supervision, ensuring delivery of high-impact solutions end-to-end

Data Pipeline Expertise: Develop and manage data pipelines that efficiently ingest, process, and store data in the cloud while ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility

Bulk Data Management: Oversee bulk data ingestion and management processes into AWS services, ensuring performance, scalability, and compliance

IoT Infrastructure Development: Lead efforts to deploy, maintain, and optimize infrastructure that supports IoT devices integrated into customer systems

Advanced Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and debugging for complex cloud systems, ensuring high uptime and reliability

Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize system performance to deliver responsive and reliable applications interfacing with time series data and multimedia streams

Data Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce strict data security measures, adhering to industry standards and regulations

Mentorship and Hiring: Contribute to hiring efforts by setting a high technical bar, leading interviews, and mentoring junior engineers to foster technical excellence

Required

6-10+ years of experience as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent role

Demonstrated ability in architecting, implementing, and optimizing secure, reliable, and highly available cloud systems, with a strong focus on AWS

Embodies a commitment to technical excellence, setting a high bar for code quality, scalability, and design decisions

Demonstrates a startup mentality, taking full ownership of initiatives and driving them forward independently with a strong work ethic and output orientation

Excited to own and drive new initiatives from inception to implementation, building impactful products with minimal supervision

Strong background in designing and managing data pipelines, analytics platforms, and tools using programming languages such as Python or Node.js

Exhibits exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, proactively identifying blockers and implementing effective solutions to maintain project momentum

Leads projects effectively while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring alignment and successful execution

Preferred

4+ years of experience working with serverless architectures in AWS or another cloud provider

Familiarity with processing and analyzing large datasets using big data technologies

Experience applying machine learning techniques to extract insights from live or historical data

Understanding of aviation industry-specific challenges and data needs

Proven experience automating and optimizing workflows to improve development velocity and security
