Responsibilities
Explaining the procedure to the patient
Positioning the patient properly
Positioning Radiation protection devices such as lead shields
Setting X-ray equipment at the correct angle and height over the appropriate area of a patient's body
Setting Controls on the X-ray machine to produce X-rays or radiographs of the appropriate density, detail, and contract
Placing exposure board beneath and under the part of the patient's body to be examined and make the exposure
Computer knowledge
Transmitting images via web-based PACs system
Following the Physician's instructions and orders precisely
Keeping patient records and adjusting/maintaining equipment
Ability to travel short and long distances to place of service
Qualification
Required
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
NC driver's license with a clean record - required
