Researcher in the SPM Nano-Imaging Lab

Responsibilities
Work with partner scientists to assemble, test, and install experimental Scanning Probe Microscopes in labs performing unique research
Assist in generating documentation and publications on new nano-imaging systems and research findings obtained using these new systems
Provide training, deliver technical presentations at professional conferences, and assess and compare needs and existing solutions
Work with the lab to improve performance and capabilities in nano-imaging, specifically UHV AFM / STM
Qualification
Required
PhD in physics, material science, chemistry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related field
2-4 years of extensive hands-on use and operation of all aspects of SPM (scanning probe microscopes), and related hardware and software
Able to effectively demonstrate and support complex hardware and software
Preferred
UHV SPM and RHK brands and models preferred
Hands-on experience building and maintaining UHV and cryogenic SPMs is strongly preferred
Experience with atomic resolution NCAFM in UHV and cryogenic environments strongly preferred
Knowledge of and experience with other surface science analytical instruments and deposition tool is helpful
