Anon is building the identity layer for the automated internet, empowering AI developers to create user-permissioned integrations. The Senior Backend Engineer will architect and scale the enterprise data migration platform, focusing on secure authentication and data workflows.

Responsibilities

Take pride in building reliable, secure APIs that developers love to use
Own features end-to-end, from conception through deployment and maintenance
Actively identify and solve problems before they impact customers
Design and maintain scalable, secure APIs that power our suite of platform-specific SDKs
Implement networking features including traffic inspection, protocol-level request manipulation, and proxy systems
Build and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure on GCP, AWS, or similar
Contribute to authentication protocol implementation and security infrastructure
Develop and maintain vendor integrations across authentication, database, and DevOps tools
Manage API versioning and backwards compatibility
Support customer integration efforts and address technical challenges
Collaborate with product and frontend teams to improve customer experience

Required

5-8+ years of experience
Expert proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js for backend systems
Strong experience with REST API design
Experience with Docker, Cloud, and best practices for web security
Experience with data engineering and building scalable data pipelines
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions
Strong background in security best practices and secrets management
Deep knowledge of databases such as Postgres and Supabase
Builder mentality with examples of shipped products or significant features
Self-motivated problem-solver who can work with incomplete information
Strong desire to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to code quality and engineering best practices
Strong documentation skills and ability to mentor other engineers
Experience with performance optimization and system monitoring

Preferred

GraphQL experience
Knowledge of networking protocols (HTTP, TCP, TLS)
