Responsibilities

Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents

Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations

Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices, contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment

Investigate claims and draft coverage opinion letters

In coverage litigation matters, draft pleadings, motions, and handle discovery

Provide clients with insurance coverage advice on a variety of subjects

Communicate with clients and provide status reports

JD from ABA accredited law schoolAdmitted to practice in CaliforniaInsurance coverage litigation experienceDefense litigation experienceDrafting coverage opinionsCoverage analysisSuperior analytical skillsWritten communicationOral communication

Required

JD from an ABA accredited law school

Admitted to practice in the state of California

3-8 years of defense litigation

1+ years of coverage/coverage litigation experience

Experience in areas of insurance coverage including drafting coverage opinions in one or more insurance lines (CGL, property, professional liability, cyber, intellectual property, etc.)

Experience in either or both third-party or first-party claims

Coverage analysis and writing experience

Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required

Superior analytical skills

Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred

Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses preferred

Experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trial experience a plus

Trial experience a plus
