They are seeking a Senior Associate/Principal level Civil Dams Engineer to manage and oversee the design and construction of earth embankment dams and related hydraulic structures, while also providing leadership to a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities
Provide engineering expertise, technical oversight and overall management of earth embankment dams, water storage reservoirs and conveyance engineering projects
Prepare and/or review design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications
Manage client relationships
Proactively market and develop dam engineering business opportunities
Perform project management activities including planning and delegating work, managing project budgets, invoicing, communicating resource needs and reporting backlog
Work as a team member within the Longmont office and across other Schnabel offices to effectively balance workload among available resources
Supervise construction related engineering services
Supervise and mentor junior engineers
Prefer willingness to travel, with some overnight travel
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or other related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program
15 years plus of relevant work experience in design of water storage, control, measurement and conveyance infrastructure
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and the ability to obtain reciprocity
Experience preparing and reviewing construction drawings and technical specifications
Experience with construction of earth embankment dams, spillways, and drain systems
Experience with construction of water storage and conveyance structures
Experience and knowledge of applicable state and federal dam safety design methodologies, policies and regulations
Experience/proficiency with common computer-aided analyses and modeling programs applicable to dam and general hydraulic engineering
Excellent oral and written communication skills
A strong work ethic and the desire to perform professionally at a high level
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Attention to detail and well-organized
Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check
Ability to pass a pre-employment screening
Preferred
A Master's Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering is preferred
Prefer willingness to travel, with some overnight travel
