Centra Health is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist II to join their Cardiac Cath Lab team. The role involves providing direct patient care during procedures, operating high technology equipment, and ensuring efficient patient flow within the Cardiovascular labs.

Responsibilities

Efficiently and effectively provides procedural support for a variety of patient procedures

Operates a high technology imaging system for procedures. Uses advanced critical thinking skills to manage emergency situations

Ensures imaging system for procedures are appropriately operated under the direction supervision of a physician. Applies appropriate measures to minimize radiation exposure to self, patients, employees, and others

Responsible for achieving quality assurance measures and requirements contributing to the successful operation of the department

Assists Cardiovascular and/or Electrophysiology proceduralist directly, utilizing sterile technique for all invasive procedures

Participates in assessment and quality of equipment and daily operational supplies with the Manager and makes recommendations accordingly

Notifies appropriate personnel to ensure proper maintenance of equipment

Demonstrates initiative and motivation by seeking opportunities for learning and development. Remains abreast of current developments by attending related seminars and reviewing current literature

Assists in other Cardiovascular and Electrophysiology areas, if needed, as workload allows

Complies with PACS entry requirements for accurate patient, film, supply, tracking monitors

Attends continuing education programs and completes mandatory training to maintain licensure, position specific ongoing competencies and professional growth

Follows hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety

Qualification

Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)ARRT Radiologic TechnologistBLS certificationACLS certificationCardiovascular TechnologyElectrophysiology TechnologyAdvanced certifications

Required

Graduate of an accredited 2-year Radiologic Technology program; Cardiovascular or Electrophysiology Technology Program; or current RCIS or RCES

Entry level for technologist is with applicable specialized cardiovascular technologist registry certification

Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES); or ARRT Radiologic Technologist

BLS and ACLS certification

Preferred

Advanced certifications such as Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) and/or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
