The role involves overseeing and supporting the design and delivery of stormwater and drainage solutions for various transportation and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates

Design roadway drainage systems, including culverts, closed systems, and erosion/sediment control

Stormwater design for projects including both bid-build and design-build projects

Conduct bridge hydraulic studies and stormwater modeling using tools such as OpenRoads Designer (ORD), HY-8, and HEC-RAS

Prepare technical reports and coordinate permitting with local and state agencies

Prepare and or review permits and permit exhibits

Mentor other engineers and interns, fostering team growth and knowledge sharing

Required

A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

5+ years of relevant experience in water resources or drainage engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan or ability to obtain a license within 6 months

Proficiency in MicroStation and ArcGIS

Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred

MDOT, OpenRoads Designer Drainage & Utility and/or HEC-RAS, SRH-2D, SWMM knowledge/experience is a plus!
