Research Engineer II
Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies is a fast-growing government service provider seeking a Research Engineer II to provide research support administration services for their government customer. This role involves resolving engineering problems, supporting biomedical engineering functions, and coordinating design phases with contractor personnel while ensuring laboratory operations meet specifications.

Responsibilities
Resolve novel systems and identify engineering problems which require the development of new techniques or the innovative application of new state-of-the-art technology
Provides support in professional biomedical engineering functions involving medical research practices to support the laboratory’s efforts
Coordinate all design phases with contractor personnel (lab/project managers, other engineers, and technical support personnel)
Direct the integration, fabrication, and functional testing of systems after installation to ensure that performance meets specifications and protocol requirements
Sets up, operates, and calibrates laboratory equipment in accordance with research protocols
Researches and collects data through complex laboratory/scientific experiments, techniques, and procedures
Assists in the maintenance of a clean and operational lab space
Assists in ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies for research
Compiles and analyzes data using scientific or statistical techniques
Assists with writing and editing material for publication and presentation
Reports on status of research activities
Routes administrative paperwork related to scientific products
Maintains data and records securely, including the use of an assigned laboratory notebook
Develop models of fluid flow in air and liquid systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree plus 2 years' related experience, or a master's degree plus demonstrable experience
Maintain current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course; American Red Cross CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation); or equivalent
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
