Yahoo Finance is seeking a visually oriented editorial intern to work with their graphics team for 8-12 weeks this summer, where you will collect and maintain datasets, support editorial workflows, and provide analytical assistance.

Responsibilities

Collecting, formatting, and maintaining datasets to support editorial/data visualization workflow
Providing relevant data and ideas to reporters/editors to spur more graphics
Facilitating automation of updates to datasets via API
Providing analytical support of data for reporters/editors as needed
Helping update and maintain Flourish graphics projects

Qualification

Data analyticsData scrapingAPI integrationGoogle SheetsPythonProject management

Required

Active enrollment in Bachelor's, Master's or PhD program in a relevant field
Familiarity with data analytics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

Ability to extract data from websites via scraping or API
Ability to pull and manipulate large datasets and cull into manageable/shareable/updateable Google Sheets
Proficiency with python coding language a plus
Experience working in a newsroom environment preferred
