Responsibilities

Provide expert guidance and strategic support to clients in the utility sector facing civil litigation and other legal challenges
Analyze complex legal issues, develop case strategies, and offer valuable insight to help clients navigate legal proceedings successfully
Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis related to utilities facing civil litigation matters
Provide oversight, manage and execute deliverables for client engagement projects for utilities and other client types
Develop and implement effective case strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
Collaborate with attorneys, legal teams and other experts to help strengthen client deliverables and outcomes
Provide expert witness testimony and analysis when required
Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting utilities litigation
Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and communication
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the utilities sector
Frequently evaluate the performance of existing offerings, recommending adjustments or enhancements to optimize consulting market share
Participate in networking events, conferences, and industry associations to promote the firm’s services
Mentor and coach junior consultants, providing guidance and support to help them grow and develop professionally

Required

Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Economics, Math, Finance, Business Administration, Law/Legal, or Political Science
10+ years' experience in the energy utility space, either at a consulting firm, a utility, a public utilities commission, a Big 4 Accounting firm, an energy-focused law firm or similar organizations
Proven ability to generate consulting services sales and direct team-based business development tasks
Proven experience in leading the ideation, design, and implementation of new service offerings
Experience writing or providing expert witness testimony for utility rate cases or other utility regulatory proceedings
Very strong communication and presentation skills, including Microsoft Office suite
Must be able to present complex ideas and strategies to utility leadership
Requires occasional travel to client sites and regulatory hearings, typically throughout the US and Canada

Preferred

Juris Doctor (JD), Master's Degree, MBA or PhD preferred
