The Therapeutics Research Scientist will participate in early-stage development and evaluation of therapeutic candidates, conducting laboratory investigations into novel therapeutics for viral and bacterial threat agents.

Responsibilities

Perform compound screening assays

Evaluate in vitro efficacy and toxicity

Support mechanistic studies for lead candidates

Maintain lab notebooks and inventory

Assist in preparation of technical reports and presentations

The contractor will be expected to execute their assigned tasks, and to share their findings with other members of the project team

The Contractor is expected to write reports and publications, and present their findings in meetings

Required

Familiarity with high-throughput assay systems

Understanding of pharmacodynamics concepts

Shall be knowledgeable in a relevant field of the life sciences

The contractor shall have demonstrated their potential ability to independently plan, execute, analyze, and report on their research through their graduate dissertation

Possesses good written and oral communication skills

Bachelor's degree in a biological science or chemistry-related field

Minimum 2+ years in pharmacology, biochemistry, or microbiology

Experience with small molecule and biologic screening

Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance eligibility, with no access to classified information, is required

Enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required
