Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design of concrete and steel bridges, retaining walls, noise walls, and other structural elements using AASHTO and applicable state DOT standards
Collaborate on bridge concept reports, structure selection reports, and technical memorandums
Develop construction documents, including structural plans, details, and specifications
Create cost estimates and calculate quantities for bidding and budgeting purposes
Prepare bridge load ratings and participate in rehabilitation and maintenance assessments
Support construction phase services by reviewing submittals and responding to contractor RFIs
Coordinate closely with roadway, traffic, and hydraulics teams to ensure smooth integration of structural components into overall project designs

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
Minimum 2+ years of bridge design experience
Familiarity with AASHTO and DOT design standards
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
Experience with CAD platforms such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D
Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record

Preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) license or in active pursuit
Experience with structural design software such as CSiBridge, SAP2000, Midas, PGSuper, or LEAP Concrete
Experience with Bridge Load Ratings, including AASHTOWare BrR software
Familiarity with CDOT or other public agency bridge design standards
