This role involves operating MRI equipment, educating patients, and assisting with procedures.

Responsibilities
Operates the magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Prepares and maintains clinical documentation per scope of practice
Educates patients/families regarding the procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Positions the patient and observes the scanning process
Screens patients for MRI safety prior to the procedure
Assists the radiologist with procedure performance when required. Obtains intravenous access and administers contrast media as director per protocol. Operates the power injector
Evaluates the MR scan for technical quality, sequence of exposure and labels appropriately
Schedules patients for procedures and assists with clerical functions. Coordinates the screening and patient flow
Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Troubleshoots and ensures equipment functionality
Qualification
Required
Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) Upon Hire
CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire
