Responsibilities

Lead and manage the iOS engineering team for Murdock and the frontend (web) engineering team for Lighthouse, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence

Ensure seamless collaboration between backend and the Applications team, driving alignment on shared goals and best practices for delivering high-quality user experiences

Engage directly in coding, architectural decisions, and technical problem-solving to support your teams and maintain a high engineering bar

Plan, execute, and deliver projects across both teams, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining quality and reliability

Define the technical direction for both iOS and web applications, aligning team objectives with Beacon AI’s product vision and long-term goals

Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and customers to ensure features meet user needs and exceed expectations

Lead hiring efforts to grow both teams, onboarding top talent and providing mentorship to develop and retain high-performing engineers

Monitor and optimize the performance, reliability, and scalability of both applications, ensuring they meet the rigorous demands of the aviation industry

Drive the delivery of features to market, ensuring seamless integration and impactful outcomes for pilots and operators

Required

Proven Engineering Experience: 6-10+ years of technical experience with expertise in iOS and web application development, and 1+ years of experience managing engineering teams

Highly Technical: Recent hands-on coding experience, with proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, TypeScript, React, or equivalent frameworks, and the ability to guide complex technical decisions

Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to lead and grow high-performing engineering teams across multiple platforms

Product Sense: Strong intuition for building user-centered applications, with a track record of delivering impactful iOS and web solutions

Execution-Oriented: Hands-on and detail-driven, with the ability to prioritize, execute, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to align teams and stakeholders around a shared vision

Agility and Adaptability: Experience working in agile environments and scaling processes in a growing company

Preferred

AI Expertise: Experience with AI-powered applications, including integration of ML models into frontend or mobile interfaces

Product Launch: Proven track record of taking applications to market, from development through launch and customer adoption

Cloud Experience: Familiarity with distributed systems, performance optimization, or aviation-specific technologies

Relevant Domain Experience: Knowledge of safety-critical or compliance-driven development environments
