Responsibilities

Serving as a lead designer on small to medium sized bridge projects

Perform structural analysis, design, and facilitate production of plan deliverables on all aspects of transportation projects

Prepare engineering design criteria, conduct site investigations, and complete engineering studies

Calculate quantities, estimate costs, and produce technical specifications

Manage task schedules and budget

Mentor younger design staff

Occasional travel to job sites for site investigations, inspections, and project meetings

Required

Strong communication skills

Ability to contribute and work well on a team

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

Minimum of 4 years of experience

Must be a registered professional engineer

Proficiency with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design

Experience with bridge analysis and design programs (LARSA, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, Lpile, SPColumn, MDX)

Experience designing plate girder and prestressed concrete bridges using AASHTO LRFD

Ability to make independent decisions on engineering problems and select appropriate structural solutions that are cost effective and constructible

Working with multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians

Occasional site visits/inspection work

Mentoring technical staff

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
