DevOps Engineer
Radiant is an El Segundo-based startup focused on building portable nuclear microreactors. The DevOps Engineer will support software infrastructure, deployment, and automation projects, collaborating with the software team to establish scalable and resilient DevOps practices.

Responsibilities
Support and maintain infrastructure across AWS and on-premises Linux environments, contributing to high availability, security, and performance for mission-critical systems
Assist in managing Kubernetes and Docker container orchestration to run simulations, internal tools, and engineering applications
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git, Argo, and other automation tools to support software delivery across engineering teams
Develop and maintain internal tooling for build systems, testing frameworks, deployment automation, and developer environments
Contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools to ensure reproducible, version-controlled infrastructure deployments
Support observability, monitoring, and logging infrastructure to help ensure system reliability and enable rapid incident response
Learn and apply security best practices, compliance requirements, and access controls across cloud and on-premises infrastructure
Grow technical expertise in DevOps practices, infrastructure patterns, and automation techniques through hands-on work and mentorship
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
3+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Golang, Rust, C#, or C/C++
Proficiency with Kubernetes and Docker for orchestration and deployment
Experience with Git and CI/CD tools (Argo, GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions), designing automated build, test, and deployment pipelines
Strong coding skills, developing automation and monitoring tools, internal applications, and infrastructure software
Ability to work from Radiant's office in El Segundo, CA (greater Los Angeles), full-time
Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to accomplish our mission
Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ
Preferred
Exposure to deploying and maintaining cloud-native applications, with interest in microservices architectures, service mesh technologies, and distributed systems
Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, Grafana, InfluxDB, Prometheus, Nagios, etc
Experience or interest in highly regulated industries (aerospace, defense, automotive, nuclear, or medical devices)
Passion for clean, maintainable code and building automation that enhances developer productivity and accelerates engineering velocity
Eagerness to work cross-functionally with engineering teams in different disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, materials, and nuclear
