Responsibilities

Perform CT scans and take x-rays according to standards and practices
Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection and specialized techniques
Verify written orders match requisition prior to performing exam
Follow appropriate protocol for the exam ordered
Administer contrast material using proper technique
Enter appropriate charges and review for accuracy
Correlate patient’s clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by the radiologist
Manage patient flow to ensure that exams are prioritized appropriately and performed efficiently

Required

Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or graduate from a school of Radiologic Technology approved by the American Medical Association or a military training program of equivalent standards
Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT, (R))
Certified in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (CT)) within 6 months of CT assignment

Preferred

One - two years' experience as a CT Technologist
