Responsibilities
Develops, designs, implements, maintains and evaluates pharmacy information technology and automation functionality to maintain compliance and with accepted standards of pharmacy practice
Coordinates with information systems to resolve issues and/or re-design processes when warranted. Participates in meetings with department, hospital, and corporate committees and groups related to pharmacy information system issues
Maintains computer databases that support appropriate record keeping and patient charge functionality. Assists in audits related to medication therapy and pharmacy patient charges
Coordinates orientation and training of hospital staff on pharmacy computer and automation systems
Collaborates with department director to develop short and long range plans and priorities and assists in budgeting for information systems projects
Qualification
Required
Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy
Registered pharmacist in the State of Michigan or eligible for State licensure
Knowledge and experience with pharmacy computer systems and automated medication dispensing systems
Preferred
Doctor of Pharmacy or other advanced degree highly preferred
Three – five years of pharmacy experience [hospital setting strongly preferred]
