Responsibilities
Successful candidate will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff Experience with feasibility studies, equipment reliability issues, system modifications and upgrades to improve safety and reliability is desirable
Successful candidate will develop and review calculations, modifications, and design change packages
Individual will possess technical knowledge of the mechanical discipline and ability to work on project teams with other engineers to assist in evaluating conditions and developing design changes which will improve plant performance, safety, and reliability
Qualification
Required
BS in mechanical, chemical, or nuclear engineering from an ABET accredited university
6 years (minimum) of mechanical engineering experience (or equivalent) is required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Presentation skills
Presentation to client review boards of developed design documents required
Proficiency in Mathcad, Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required
Effective time management skills required as position may involve working on several projects concurrently
Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted commercial nuclear power plant access is required
Understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and processes
Overtime work is required at times
Travel to client sites required with periods of on-site field/office work
Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, to include climbing ladders, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas required
Preferred
Experience with feasibility studies, equipment reliability issues, system modifications and upgrades to improve safety and reliability is desirable
