Senior Practice Leader - Federal Civil Works

Kimley-Horn is looking for a motivated hands-on Senior Practice lead to expand their Federal practice in Dallas/Fort Worth. The role involves leading a Civil Works team, managing relationships with key Federal clients, and delivering large USACE Civil Works projects and programs.

Responsibilities

The qualified individual will lead a Civil Works team while building and managing relationships with key Federal clients
Manage, lead, and deliver large USACE Civil Works projects and programs including water resource projects and flood mitigation programs
Operating with integrity and sound business principals
Providing vision, business planning and strategy
Establishing goals
Building and maintaining positive client relationships
Having open communication with your partners and team
Growing and leading a land development practice
Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business

Qualification

Civil Works project managementRegistered Professional Engineer (P.E.)AutoCAD Civil3DBusiness developmentClient relationship managementStaff mentoringEffective communication

Required

12+ years of relevant experience managing Civil Works projects in the Federal space
Discipline expertise in one of the following areas preferred: structural, mechanical, civil engineering
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
Extensive client contacts and relationships with Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, DHS, the US Coast Guard, the National Guard, or other Federal agencies
Strong technical skills with AutoCAD Civil3D
Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work
Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
Demonstrated ability to manage civil works projects profitably
