Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of satellite engineers, overseeing recruitment, training, and performance evaluations
Manage the Attitude and Orbit Control Subsystem (AOCS) for a multi-generational satellite fleet, ensuring optimal performance and safety
Act as the subject matter expert on AOCS components, including sensors (earth sensors, sun sensors, magnetometers, star trackers, rate gyroscopes) and actuators (magnetic torquer bars, reaction wheels)
Monitor satellite AOCS in real-time, responding promptly to on-orbit anomalies and conducting thorough investigations to predict future performance
Develop, test, and implement satellite procedure scripts to enhance operational efficiency
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in satellite engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Proficiency in tools such as Satellite Tool Kit, MATLAB, and Python
Excellent ability to prioritize tasks, maintain meticulous records, and juggle competing timelines in a dynamic and rapidly evolving setting
Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting clearly and concisely with all departments and levels of management
Willingness to work outside of normal working hours to support satellite launches, orbit raising, and anomaly recovery
