Responsibilities
Prepare detailed designs of unusual, complex, original designs, of automated equipment
Performs unusually difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and design expertise
Ensures that anticipated problems in manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation are resolved by the design/drawings produced
Exercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on knowledge of the design intent
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical / Electro Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
5 plus years' experience utilizing Solidworks and/or AutoCAD designing various custom Automated Test and Assembly Machines for a wide range of industries
Leader of large $1M+ projects with responsibility for multiple engineers
Knowledge of sound mechanical design principals, shop practices, and automation and test components
Intimate knowledge of SolidWorks solid modeling software, knowledge of design techniques, automation techniques and principals involved in creation of automation and test stations and machines
Solid understanding of Controls and how it interacts with the mechanical design
Mentoring ability and a desire to teach junior engineers and peers
Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, innate sense of commitment to the task at hand
Attention to budgets and schedules and the profitability of the company
