Shoals Marine Laboratory Teaching Assistant

Assist SML staff with daily and weekly program-related duties that include stocking labs and classrooms
Provide supervision and support to students in the classroom and lab
Help with administrative tasks that may include grading, record keeping, collections management
Assist SML staff with creating a supportive learning environment for all students
Qualification
Required
Academic experience in the subject matter
Provide supervision and support to students in the classroom and lab
Help with administrative tasks that may include grading, record keeping, collections management

Strong knowledge of the subject matter
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage time, materials and tasks efficiently
Preferred
Associated field and/or lab experience is preferred, but not required
BA or BS in subject matter area preferred but not required
